Vinaya Kapoor and Samir Kapoor are committed to furthering the scientific and entrepreneurial talent at IIT Bombay to address climate, energy and sustainability challenges. With the ACCESS Competition and Awards, they continue their efforts towards addressing these urgent priorities in practical and actionable ways. They are passionate about advancing interest and careers in science, technology, environment and the arts, particularly among women and youth and volunteer their time towards this. Vinaya and Samir are also Sponsors of the Chair Professorship in Climate Studies at IIT Bombay.
* In addition, selected winning teams, as per the feasibility/maturity of the idea, may be supported for their activities in relevant entities in IIT Bombay or encouraged to promote a startup or incubation as per IIT Bombay policies. Winning teams may be considered for the IDEAS Pre-incubation Program.

Confidentiality :
1. Any confidential information provided as part of the
proposal for the ACCESS awards should be marked / indicated clearly
regarding the same.
2. Proposals submitted by applicant teams will be shared with
the Awards evaluation committee and all efforts will be made to
maintain confidentiality during the evaluation.
3. Any solutions not selected for the award will not be used further by IIT Bombay.
Intellectual Property:
1. The teams selected for the ACCESS challenge award will be
supported by IITB through cash funding and in kind, for progressing
their ideas further including the protection of related intellectual
property. In such case, the intellectual
property policy of IIT Bombay will apply.
2. Applicant team will sign a declaration prior to entering the competition to meet with the above requirement.
No objection certificate (NOC):
A non-IIT Bombay student participating in the ACCESS challenge (as per the eligibility criteria) shall submit a
NOC from their parent academic institution.
